We need our PC to start up as they used to start up when we first used it (it was fast right?). Downloading and installing new software on your windows makes your system heavy and slow, and every time you restart your PC it takes up time to load software to set up your desktop which causes slow startup. Microsoft introduced fast startup feature in Windows 8, which manage to make your Pc to boot up significantly faster than before. In the same way, you can use this feature if you are a Windows 10 user.  So, in this article, I will walk you through two options from which you can make Windows 10 startup fast.

Let’s start with the stepwise guide.

Option 1: Turning on Fast startup option

Step 1: Open Control Panel from Start Menu

Right click on the Start Menu Windows icon which will launch a Menu, click on the Control Panel option from the Menu as shown above.

Step 2: Accessing Shutdown settings

After Control Panel opens up, click on the Hardware and Sound option (as shown above) to proceed.

Now, under the Power Options click on the Change what the power button do option as highlighted above.

Now, click on the Change settings that are currently unavailable option under Define power buttons and turn on password protection heading as shown above. This will enable you to manipulate settings that were unavailable.

Now scroll down until you find Shutdown settings, in which it has the option of Turn on fast startup. Make sure you have checked marked this option as shown above. Now, click on Save changes so that it applies to your system.

Option 2: Disabling application for startup.

Step 1: Open Task Manager.

Right click on your taskbar, a menu will pop up, click on the Task Manager option as shown above.

Step 2: Disabling applications on startup

After Task Manager Windows pops up, click on the Startup tab as shown above.

Now under the startup tab, you can see the applications listed, each having a Status and a Startup impact of High, Medium or Low.

Now click on the application and then click on the Disable button (as shown above) to disable the application from loading on the Windows startup.

As you can see above that the particular application has now been disabled and now can be enabled back when desired. You can disable the applications that you no longer require on a startup or you can disable application and start them when you need to use them.

Congratulations. Now you know how to make windows 10 startup fast. Enjoy!
